Areas of practice

Mungo has a broad practice encompassing a wide variety of chancery and commercial work. His property related work comprises of Real Property (easements, adverse possession, boundary disputes), Landlord and Tenant (commercial and residential), Housing, Trusts of Land and Inheritance Act matters. His commercial practice covers personal and corporate insolvency (petitions for bankruptcy, applications to set aside statutory demands, preference payments, transactions at an undervalue, winding-up petitions, validation orders, administration orders) breach of contract (restraint of trade, sale of goods, supply of services and contracts regulated by The Consumer Credit Act 1974), partnerships, professional negligence and enforcement proceedings. He has also appeared in the High Court in an appeal under Regulation 3 of the Council Tax (Reductions for Disabilities) Regulations 1992.

Mungo appears before a wide variety of tribunals, predominantly in the County Courts but also before Registrars in the Companies and Bankruptcy Courts, and masters and High Court Judges in the High Court.

Mungo is qualified and willing to undertake public access work.

Reported cases:

  • The Queen on the application of Hanson v. Middlesborough Borough Council [2006] EWHC 1700 (Admin): Application of ‘major importance’ test inherent in Regulation 3 of the Council Tax (Reductions for Disabilities) Regulations 1992.
  • Re: Private Moments Ltd [2007] All ER (D) 398 (July): Adminstration orders; extent to which the Court needs to investigate whether the purpose of the administration can be achieved.
