Areas of practice
James’ practice encompasses all aspects of chancery
and commercial work, with the exception of taxation. James also
undertakes public and other forms of inquiries.
He has particular experience in respect of contractual and restitutionary
disputes, and is able to advise on both personal and proprietary
asset recovery remedies, whether in the context of insolvency or
otherwise.
James has experience in all of the insolvency regimes, with particular
emphasis on asset recovery following liquidation. Insolvency practitioners
and solicitors acting for former directors regularly instruct him
in respect of these and related matters.
James formerly taught an LLM course on the Regulation of Electronic
Technologies, and is recognised as an expert in IT law, having written
articles and contributed to books in this area.

James writes extensively in the field of IT. He has written
articles and contributed to several books in this area.
