Members of Chambers act in cases relating to all types of IP, both
‘hard’ and ‘soft’, including: patents, designs
(registered and unregistered), copyright and related rights, trademarks,
passing off, domain names, moral rights, database rights, designations
of origin, confidential information, rights of privacy, data protection,
trade descriptions and trading standards.
IP cases handled by members cover the whole range of subject matter,
from technology, software and databases to fashion, sport, entertainment,
media and the visual arts. Members act in infringement proceedings,
oppositions to registration, entitlement disputes, and licensing
and contractual matters relating to IP. Members have considerable
expertise in relation to competition and European aspects of IP.
Members advise and represent clients in IP cases in all types of
tribunal, including European and UK courts; European and UK patent,
design and trade mark offices; licensing tribunals; arbitrations,
domain name dispute resolution panels and mediations. Discrete expertise
is available in relation to IP issues that may arise in a number
of foreign jurisdictions, including Australia, Canada and the United
States.
