After having successfully completed pupillage at Thirteen Old Square, Emma joined as a tenant in 2011. Emma has a developing practice which, in line with Chamber’s profile, encompasses a wide variety of commercial and chancery work. Having worked as a Freelance Advocate prior to commencing pupillage Emma has accumulated a large amount of advocacy experience in both County Courts and the High Court, particularly in relation to mortgage possession, landlord and tenant, contractual disputes and insolvency matters. Emma also undertakes drafting and offers advice at every stage of litigation.
Emma’s main areas of practice include:
- Real property including claims in relation to possession, beneficial interests, boundary disputes and unlawful interferences with land;
- Landlord and Tenant;
- Insolvency (both personal and corporate) in particular presenting and opposing bankruptcy petitions, winding up petitions, applications for possession and sale, applications to aside statutory demands and validation orders;
- Contractual and commercial disputes;
- Personal injury litigation including advisory work, drafting statements of case and schedules of loss and representing clients at court in both interim and final hearings (including road traffic accident claims and infant settlement hearings).
